New Resources Added

March 2, 2009

Hey all,

Just wanted to let you know about some new resources I just added to the main website;

AUDIO RESOURCE: In October of 2006 at Calvary Chapel Ontario, just months after leaving the LDS church and accepting the Jesus Christ of the Bible as my Savior, I was asked to give an impromptu testimony about my experience. The mp3 file just added to the Audio Center is a recording of the message I shared that night.
The link for the Audio Center is: http://www.lifeafterjoseph.org/streaming_audio.shtml

BOOK RESOURCES: I’ve just added a full free PDF version of the book “Life After Joseph: My Journey from Mormonism to Biblical Christianity” for download.  The link for the Books page is: http://www.lifeafterjoseph.org/books.shtml

I’ve also just added a fully interactive PDF file of the book, “The Changing World of Mormonism” by Jerald and Sandra Tanner.  If you know of the Tanners from an active LDS perspective, you may have heard that they are “anti-Mormon”.   In truth, nobody has done more research and committed more effort to revealing the accurate truth about Mormonism than this former LDS couple.  They have literally devoted their lives to trying to reach out to the LDS people with truth and information.  This e-book has been updated with active links that will take you to mostly LDS sources to verify and backup the well-researched and well-laid out information.  This is a must-read for anyone who is really ready to take a hard look at the changes and inconsistencies of the LDS religion.  Again, the link for the Books page is: http://www.lifeafterjoseph.org/books.shtml

Not of this blog…

January 4, 2009

Hey all,

I’ve been blogging recently in a new blog space over on WordPress.  I wanted a space where I could address a little wider audience about things that really aren’t specifically related to the LDS church.  If you’re interested, you can find it at…

I’ll still post here as topics come up and events unfold related to my life as a Post-Mormon Christian, so stay tuned.

Mormonism from a Biblical Perspective

May 4, 2008

I’ve just added a new feature to the site here at www.LifeAfterJoseph.org. It’s something that’s been on my mind for a long time now, and I finally felt like the time was right to launch it.

Basically, it’s a through-the-Bible study focusing on what the Bible has to say about LDS doctrine and Mormonism. I’ve gotten the first 19 chapters of Genesis up now, with more to come soon. Genesis will likely be one of the books I’ll go into in the most depth, just because it really does set up the foundation of the entire Bible, New Testament included. Leaving it out would be kind of like missing the first 1/2 hour of a movie. It would just leave too many holes in the plot. Read the rest of this entry »

What Is It About The Bible?

January 21, 2008

Imagine if you will that you are in a bookstore. All around you are shelf upon shelf of books… the vast majority of which you have never heard of, let alone actually read. There are also people all around you, milling around in this same bookstore, pulling random books of the shelves and thumbing through them. You decide to take a poll. And it goes something like this… Read the rest of this entry »

My Story

January 18, 2008

I realized today that, following the new web design, I didn’t get my story of leaving Mormonism back up on the site. Here it is in a nutshell… (as opposed to the really, really long version available in the Books section of this site).

—————————————————

To understand my life now, you would have to get a glimpse of what my life was like not so very long ago. You see, I was raised a Mormon. I come from a very active Mormon family and, with a few temporary exceptions, I lived it quite consistently throughout my life. In mid-2006, my life would have looked something like this: Read the rest of this entry »

The Word of Promise Audio Bible

December 28, 2007

I received this wonderful gift for Christmas, and it’s fast becoming my favorite. I’ve listened to quite a few other audio bibles over the last little while, but nothing comes close to this one, as far as I’m concerned. Unfortunately, the only downside is that it is only the New Testament. I hope they’ve got plans to do an Old Testament version of it in the future. Read the rest of this entry »

And Learn Of Me…

December 13, 2007

As I was praying today, this scripture came to my mind:

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

For some reason, I noticed four words in there that I had never really noticed before, Read the rest of this entry »

Miracle Pill

December 2, 2007

For some reason, I’ve been thinking a lot in analogy lately.

Suppose I was dying from some sort of disease. (Yeah, real fun analogy, huh?) It was a progressive disease, and was approaching it’s final debilitating stages. But just as I was giving up hope, I heard about a new miracle pill that might be a cure. Read the rest of this entry »
